What is a SCORM package?

SCORM stands for Sharable Content Object Reference Model and it is a set of technical standards for e-learning packages/software. It basically allows for packages made in various different softwares to be understood by various learning management systems (such as Blackboard or Moodle).
Sometimes you might hear people talking about SCORM packages, they are often referring to Articulate Storyline/Captivate packages which are slide based clickable packages which can be put into Blackboard (because they use SCORM standards). It is technically incorrect though to refer to them as SCORM as SCORM is the standard and you can have many other types of packages that are not made with Storyline or Captivate.
